# I need ideas to stake my fiddle leaf fig ! I have clear fishing line…

I need ideas to stake my fiddle leaf fig ! I have clear fishing line now tied to a small hook but it makes the plant immovable and some leaves are in the dark.  
Help!

Can you put some stakes right into the pot?  
I’d use twine or the Velcro tape for plants. They wouldn’t cut into the plant like fishing line might

Do you shake the stem? Or rotate? It makes it stronger. These plants are used to being blown around in the wind. I throttle mine every now and again.

Them ficus deserve a good throttling sometimes

I use a small oscillating fan which helps keep her moving

When my ficus elastica trunks were weaker, I used metal gardening stakes for support- something like this picture

A bamboo stake / pole is what I have on mine it works really well and the plants trunk has even grown around it a bit
