# Anyone have this type of planter? I repotted my plant into this…

_Lagt ut av Lo den 2025-05-17_

Anyone have this type of planter? I repotted my plant into this larger pot before I realized this is a self watering planter. It’s a pain to repot and I think I can tip out extra water…but I don’t really know how it works. I can’t detach the bottom reservoir…

Personally I’d drill a hole into it for drainage and use a saucer.

I go with Danii. I’ve gotten those hated pots with Lowe’s plants. I reuse them by drilling a hole in the bottom and place it on a saucer. They are decent pots for being plastic. I have a sansevieria in one.

I use self watering pots successfully. You just don't constantly refill the reservoir. I wait for it to empty, check my soil, then fill the resouviour about 1/3 of the way. That's just me! I know not everyone is a helicopter plant parent

I love and I hate them. I have a few from Temu that I love. The bottom reservoir is clear and you just lift the planter off fill the bottom with water. I too let the reservoir dry completely out and then check the soil before filling again. The ones from Lowe’s are a pain because the inter pot is so hard to lift out to fill the main reservoir. One of the pots has a see through bottom so I at least know I need to check it. I think I might follow the groups suggestion and drill a hole in those two. Good luck.
