Does “lime sensitive” grossly translate to acid loving?

I heard in passing perlite can raise pH in soil and I’ve worked too hard on my calatheas to give up now. I make soil but plant almost everything in a generally airy mix, i was thinking of an acidic additive that could be added to these whiny lime and fluoride sensitive babies

i dont think perlite changes the pH, as its a naturally occuring volcanic glass. idk much about calatheas and their prefferer pH, but i think google could probably tell you.
"lime sensitive" probably reffers to the rock limestone which can increase the hardness of the water, which calatheas will not like if theres too much of it.
i would double check these on the internet or if someone else here wants to correct me that would be great lol.
good luck!

Yup Ericaceous plants . So they would hate anything 7.1ph-8.1ph and higher, alkaline (which is usually achieved with lime stone or chalks. 6.5-7.0 is considered neutral. And 6.0-4.0 and below are acid. You can add sulfer, there's also several types of sulphates that work. Coffee grounds are probably the most available and easy to use.

Perlite will not change ph, it is a neutral 7. You may be thinking of Sphagnum peat moss, but that will also make soil more acidic in large quantities.
