So I got this desert rose a month ago. Over the month it has lost almost every single leaf. What am I doing wrong? I’ve watered it twice in the past month.

One thing you could do is remove the fallen leaves off the soil so it won’t attract has many gnats. Maybe water more idk I don’t have that’s plant. And maybe see if it needs repotting.

Mine also lost all of its leaves while acclimating to its new environment with me! Not sure why. Since then it has regrown some leaves and it’s now focused on flowering :) I would say keep it in the sun, let the soil dry out between watering, and cheer it on!

The base trunk looks rough. I recommend checking the roots for rot.

Desert rose are susceptible to spider mites. Check for fine webbing between the leaves in combination with tiny spots on the yellowing leaves.

Also, for your safety, be sure to wear gloves when handling. All parts of the plant are highly toxic to humans and pets.

It’s normal for them to lose leaves during transitions. Make sure the pot is well draining, otherwise don’t repot, they like being in tight pots. You can repot it at the end of the season. You can raise them some each repot and they’ll have a beautiful caudex. If you’re on facebook I highly recommend joining “desert rose adenium club” there are some amazing DR experts on there that’ll teach you so much about these

Where are you moving to? I moved from Florida last year and I definitely am having withdrawals from my year round flowers 😩😩

I live in TN now, it gets really cold here during the winter and into the spring/early summer. But we’re shooting for AZ in the next few years! I’m excited!
