# Any tips/advice for fertilizing plants using a self watering rope?…

_Postat av Lgroener den 2025-02-25_

Any tips/advice for fertilizing plants using a self watering rope? I’m new to fertilizing my house plants, but am going to give it a try per the app’s instructions. The first plant I’m to fertilize is my fiddly fig that is self-watered. It’s fiddly and I’m nervous! Do I add the fertilizer to the self-watering reservoir or top water it? TIA!!

I would think adding a fertilizer to the reservoir would be the better option, otherwise you risk over watering. I would however dilute the fertilizer to at the most half strength maybe even less, and dissolve it in a little water before you pour it into the base reservoir.
