# SOS my cat bit my snake plant and idk what to do. I was gifted this…

SOS my cat bit my snake plant and idk what to do.

I was gifted this last year and I’m really hoping there’s a way to save it without having to cut it??? What are some suggestions?

EDIT: The cat is fine, he must’ve just liked the feeling of his teeth sinking into the leaf because he didn’t take a bite out of it and he hasn’t shown any signs of discomfort etc. He’s literally zooming around the apartment right now. :)

Thanks all for checking in on him and the advice.

Forgot to mention also that I did move the plant away from his reach as soon as I noticed.

Is your cat OK? I believe snake plants are toxic to dogs and cats.

Yes he’s ok, thanks for your concern. I don’t believe he ate it but just chewed on it a bit and he doesn’t have any symptoms. I definitely wouldn’t be worried about the plant if my cat weren’t ok! :)

He’s fine, thank you for asking. If he wasn’t I certainly wouldn’t be worried about a plant lol 🤪

The snake plant will probably be fine. This leaf will always be scarred. As you get more leaves and pot fills, maybe then you can cut off the scarred leaf.

Plants have to deal with damages like this in their natural habitats constantly, don’t worry it shouldn’t kill or really harm your plant other than looks.

Hopefully your cat is ok! Might want to put it in a hanging planter where cat can’t get to it.
