Anyone else besides me having to rescue many plants from root rot these approaching winter months already? 😳🤦🏽‍♀️man I have been repotting and replacing pothos like crazy even out of my terracotta pots 🙄🙄

I have had the same problem! I reduced the water I was giving them, and that seemed to help. Root rot sucks!

Helen. They all recommend plastic pots with drainage holes. Plus they need atleast 30 days to get used to the new pot. Pearlite is great for not smothering your baby. I have 87 plants. Don’t forget to wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to keep the dust off. That helps them to breathe. Good job 👏.

Oddly enough, I’ve had to increase watering for some of mine (I believe because my house is so freaking dry right now despite pebble trays, misting, and a humidifier)!

Tropical plants can grow slower in colder temperatures and with less light due to shorter days and changes in the sun angles. Try giving the plants more light to boost the photosynthesis process. A grow light helps a lot. Place one about a foot from the plant running 12-14 hours or longer, if needed. Use a light meter or light meter to measure the amount of light actually reaching the plants.

Avoid watering by a strict schedule before checking with your fingers or a chopstick/wooden meat skewer if the soil is ready for watering. This applies anytime of the year. 🪴🍀

Yes!!! My baby groot, who I had for 3+ years (longest I've ever kept a plant) seemed like he rotted and turned half yellow OVERNIGHT??? It couldn't have been overwatering either bc je was literally grown in water and stayed in water... Then I tried my best to save him and a week later he was completely dead aside from a really small clipping I took and am trying to grow now in dirt with a bag over him for humidity

Just with my begonias had to pull back on water as one killed over and I’m hoping it has the strength to come back.

Yes I have grow lights on all of my plants and definitely know not to overwater, or fertilize to much because this isn’t the growing season and many plants stop growing in winter months

Yep. My micro orchids are caught between too-wet sphagnum and too-dry air. And my largest alocasia is throwing a tantrum from uneven watering (hopefully not root rot but it could be)

Wasting your time misting \& pebble trays. They collect the ugly little black bugs. I just use a hydrometer to check them.
