# Heyo! im kinda new to this whole omar thing, anyone have any advice…

Heyo! im kinda new to this whole omar thing, anyone have any advice on Calatheas? i got one from home depot on sale the other day and i was just wondering if there was anything special i need to know that the internet wont tell me!

The secret is the water. I use water run through a filter and then also add a few drops of fish tank water conditioner. I also have a silicon liquid that add a little bit to the water and then they bottom water by sitting in it. It seems to work really well.

most calathea hate direct sun on their leaves and are prone to scorching. mine have done best in my frosted bathroom window and i also have success growing them on an east facing windowsill. she's gorgeous, best of luck to you!

i have them behind a window with the blinds partially closed so the sun isn’t directly on her, i hope that isn’t too harsh

i think i’m doing something right! one of the new leafs has been opening the past couple of days!

That’s so impressive, I’ve had mine for 8 months and there’s been no new growth 😭 i might just be really bad with calatheas
