# Hello everyone. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba and the cool nights are…

_Pubblicato da Anninbrodie il 2026-10-03_

Hello everyone. I live in Winnipeg Manitoba and the cool nights are setting in. I have a large Roma tomato plant that has produced fantastic fruit all season long. I’ve still got well over a dozen green tomatoes on the vine that haven’t started to blush yet and we had frost the other night. Not sure what to do. Will they survive out there and keep ripening? If I bring them in will they ripen in the window, or are they garbage? Any suggestions? Thanks

Normally when I get frost the tomatoes are garbage. ( I live near Winnipeg)

You could make fried green tomatoes! Once the leaves have frosted I think that's about your only option.

At the end of the season, I put all my green tomatoes in a paper bag; close up the top and put in my pantry to rioen. Never delt with them after being hit by frost, but it’s worth a shot!
