Has anyone tried using tea (water the tea leaves have been steeped in), as fertilizer for indoor plants? If so, let me know! What kind of tea were you using and do you think it'd be suitable for most plants? Thanks:)

No. It doesn't offer any real fertilization, so please dont rely on that. And it will kill your plants that don't thrive in acidic soil, as it will change your PH. If you have any acidic loving plant itd be fine, but the only benefit would be the acidification. There is no decomposing matter that would offer any nutrient profile that'd be beneficial

Oh, thanks for warning me against it! Seen a few people around using it, but decided to check anyway:)

I think people really hyped it up for 'cheap fertilizer', but unless you let a LOT of tea leaves soak and deteriorate. That's the only way you'd get any sort of nutrition, and its been like 1/2% of the nutrients. And would need to be careful of acidity

To be honest, I remember trying out used tea leaves as a fertilizer a few years ago. Didn't kill anyone, it was just very anticlimactic, nothing happened at all. Maybe all of my older guys liked a more acidic soil so it didn't affect them poorly. It makes much more sense now, as to why that did nothing for them I suppose, lol. Thank you again for clearing it up!:)
