No such thing as a male plant ^^.

You won’t be able to self (pollinate itself) this time sadly, especially if they are coming at the same time, this is because the inflorescences start as females (producing sticky sap droplets) and then turn yellow to become male and release pollen, However!!

You can buy some sterile fine paint brushes, some small little plastic vials, and some black card or tin foil.

Fold the black card/tin foil into a V, you then hold it under the inflorescence and gently brush the pollen on to it, you then take that and put it into ur vials, (you can do this multiple times during the male stage) and then pop them into the freezer! And they’ll last a good few months, so if anything else produces a flower you can pollinate it!!

This is so fascinating. Thank you so much for your thorough response!
I’ll definitely give this a shot. It’s my first successful anthurium and was curious about hybridizing it.

Wonder if I can find someone else with an anthurium already at that stage? 🤔

Thanks again!

It’s possible! You can ask on social media/facebook groups to buy anthurium pollen.

And you’re very welcome ^^
