# hey guys, so i have this elephant ear that i recently…

hey guys, so i have this elephant ear that i recently repotted/changed the soil because it wasn’t doing so great. it’s been doing better since, but today i noticed this tiny sprout next to the plant. is this going to be another elephant ear? thanks in advance, so confused where it came from lol.

yes! that's how they make babies, they shoot off from the mother plants roots. exciting!  
if you don't want multiple in the same pot, wait for it to develop at least one or two strong leaves before moving it.

okay awesome, thank you! would they be okay if i left them in the same pot? or should i upgrade it at all if i want to keep them together? thanks in advance!

they can absolutely stay together if you want :-) i'd refrain from upgrading until you notice signs of it being root bound (roots poking through drainage holes, yellowing leaves, water going through soil very quickly).
