Hello! I'm still fairly new to the plant world. I am planning on repotting some plants that need some tlc. I've been searching for the right soil and the best I found was the Fox Farms potting soil. Does anyone think otherwise ? Or have other recommendations I want to be able to give the right soil to my plant babies! :) thank you! Also any tips for new plant mom?

What kinds of plants? The soil type really depends on the specific plant’s needs :)

Trying to repot a aloe, 2 pothos and an ivy :)

Pothos are super easy in my experience, a nice chunky mix will do, to your potting soil add things like perlite and orchid bark and coco coir. Aloes don’t need as much moisture so something super well draining and very chunky is good, add things like lava rocks and perlite and pretty much anything gravelly. Ivy likes to stay pretty consistently moist so give it some peat moss. OR to make things easy haha (but slightly more expensive) you can buy pre mixed soils. So for the Pothos search for “chunky house plant mix” and for the aloe search for “cactus house plant mix”. The type of soil for your house plants really comes down to how much moisture each kind of plant needs and then based off of that, give them a soil mix that retains the right amount of moisture. Hope that helps :)

Yes that will depend on what you're planting.

The pothos will be fine in straight FF. However the aloe will need some ammendments. Either just perlite, or perlite and bark or gritty mix. It needs fast draining soil. I'd say like 1 part ammendments to 2 parts FF. The pothos wouldn't be adverse to some perlite as well, but its not as pressing as for the aloe
