# Lighting question! My husband built me a shelf in this large east…

Lighting question!

My husband built me a shelf in this large east facing window- would you consider this bright indirect light or shade? I have my grow light going because the garage from the right seems to cast a shadow but wanted some other opinions- would you still be using the grow light to supplement? Or is it overkill for my aroids?

Beautiful large windows! Love what you’ve done with the plants there! Is that a humidifier for plants?

Hey there ! Yes it Is! It’s the Levoit LV600, it seems to work alright for my open room and all of my plants are happy! Alocasias are still to be determined though lol

Thank you for the info! I have been thinking about getting one but I wasn’t sure about the wetness on the floor.

I find having a fan really helps! My floors are never wet but my windows get condensation if it’s cold outside and I don’t have a fan going !

It might just be the picture, but it looks pretty shaded to me. My understanding of indirect light is if the room is still lit up from the sun, but you don’t see the sun directly from your window.

Yeah in the morning the whole rooms lit up but that darn garage starts blocking sun around 2! I am thinking I’ll keep my grow lights and watch for signs of stress for now
