I’ve used them. They work. There is only one large plant I use it for though. I have a round glass one.

They work only good if you plan on going out of town and need assistance in plant watering until you return in my opinion. You risk root rot if not careful for plants that prefer to dry out between waterings. I would suggest a self watering pot instead if your trying to give you a little time with your schedule before you need to water your plants again.
