I could really use some help/advice. I am in zone 9 and most of my plant are outside most of the time. In the past I have moved them inside on the nights that will be coldest but these plants are new to me and I’m thinking I should set them up inside.
The problem is that my house is super dark. I have one spot with south windows that I think would work for my philodendrons and Chinese evergreen. What about my coleus and zig zag? Should I set up grow lights instead? I don’t want to keep shocking them with the in and out all the time…
Tia.

Where abouts are you that you are calling cold?

Below 50degrees, tonight will be 39-40 degrees and it’s been like that for several days. I know there will be more to come…

I love the purple butterfly plant (the plant with triangle leaves)

I would definitely recommend grow lights for when they are inside. You can find pretty good ones on Amazon for $25-$35 that are on tripods. I do highly recommend getting a couple of Sansi bulbs though and they are on sale on Amazon

You may not be able to tell, but how many do you think I’d need?

If you are keeping them together like that, I would guess two to three Sansi bulbs hanging about three feet above so you get a wider angle range. I will try and attach a link of the Sansi bulb I use that I get great results with

This is the bulb I use for all of my hanging bulbs. Has a great range of light and the PPFD stays high even at a distance of 3+ feet

Those painted nettles(the picture on the left) are so pretty.

Thank you. They grow like crazy here.

This is a temporary arrangement until I figure out what to do. I need a greenhouse!
