Just bought these 2 tropical plants from Costco today! 🪴🌿  
I’m a total newbie and would love some help. Can anyone help me identify them and share any tips or tricks to keep them healthy and thriving?

I want to start this plant journey off right and make sure I don’t accidentally kill them 😅 Any advice on watering, light, or repotting would be amazing!

I’m pretty sure the left is a Calathea and I think the type is a Calathea warscewiczii, the right looks like a golden pothos.

They both look good for now in pot size just make sure they have good drainage. For watering you could follow Planta or water them once a week. Thy both love light so next to a grow light or next to a sunny window would work great!

I have both of those plants and second the advice from Melody. If you have an eastern facing window and put them there together they should thrive. Just make sure their pots have drainage.

This is good advice. Pothos like bright indirect light meaning, not directly in a window, but off to the side of a window. Some distance away from the window is perfect. Now the calathia (LOL) they are so dramatic! They love humidity. I would suggest a humidifier or keeping in a bathroom near a shower so the humidity from a warm shower and moisten the leaves. They are beautiful plants but a pain at times

pothos also like to climb, and when they get longer they look beautiful in a hanging pot. great for bathrooms as well! they love the humidity.

Beautiful plants! Pothos are pretty easy. My thoughts are with you regarding the Calathea 😂

My Pothos do fine with normal humidity. The Calatheas have a fit if they don’t get enough. I’m in a very dry climate though.

I usually go ahead and buy a tombstone when I buy a calathea! Seriously! 😩
