I purchased some geraniums this spring at Lowe's. And I'm wondering if I can winter those over in my plant light basement, or if there's another way to keep them for next year. I live in Iowa

It’s very possible. Just start by stopping fertilizer and bringing them inside now for an hour or two a day, then all the way inside, then downstairs, and as you do start cutting down on the water. You’ll want to water minimally and fertilize not at all during the winter, and then in the spring you can reverse the steps above and “wake it up.”

Thanks so much. I wasn't sure that them being those apparent non-reproducing variants that there'd be a negative effect.
