Hi everyone! I'm going to a plant shop today to pick up some liquid fertilizer and I was wondering if there is anything specific that I should get.

Why liquid? Slow release is better.

I was thinking of using liquid fertilizer because it's quick, easy to use, and quickly gives the plants their nutrients! Tropical plants usually benefit better from liquid fertilizer as well, and most of my babies are tropical houseplants

Can you add this to the soil before planting?

I’m fond of seaweed-based or “natural” fertilizers. The benefit is you can’t really overfertilize and burn the plants. The downside is that it smells like seaweed.

I glanced at your plants. I would get something that's just a balanced ratio of NPK. I like the FoxFarm line, SuperThrive, instant plant food. Just make sure its not super low. Like a 3-1-2 NPK ratio, go a bit higher, and it gives you the ability to dilute it if needed. For dry i like Maxsea 16-16-16, and Osmocote. But I don't use dry much, since it's so water dependent. Too much water and it drains right out, too little and no nutrients are really distributed. Even the maxsea i usually make into liquid

I like to use miracle gro, which is pretty popular at my Lowe’s here in Austin. Works well for any of me and my sister’s plants (except for my nepenthes, which require certain items).
