I would recommend spacing your plants throughout your house if you can! Gnats can travel between plants and the issue will recover faster if they’re forced to stay within their plant. Also water with 1:1 isopropyl alcohol and water, but you might want to double check on that ratio. Good luck! ### laura 🩷🪴님이 2025-05-07에 댓글을 남겼어요. I use mosquito dunks in my watering can. I break a dunk in half, toss it in my 1 gallon watering can and let it soak for at least overnight then water my plants with the “tea”. I continue with this for every water for all my plants until the knats disappear. The dunk is good until it completely breaks up, then I toss in another half. I also use sticky traps to catch the adults. I’ve found this combo works really well, and the mosquito dunks are easy to find and pretty cheep (Lowe’s, Home Depot, Amazon). I wouldn’t use the mosquito dunks in any plants grown in straight water. However, I don’t think the knats lay eggs in just water like mosquitos do. Another consideration (a theory for one of my plants ) is maybe the plant is getting root rot and that’s why they keep coming back. I removed all my plants from their soil, chopped all the roots, and rerooted everything in water. I ended up switching most of my plants to semi hydro and only recently started using soil again on some of my plants.
