girl i struggle with fungus gnats every freakin year, the only think that i can actually see doing something besides the sticky traps is watering with diluted hydrogen peroxide. it kills the larvae and eggs in the soil, also is good for the soil and adds oxygen

I would recommend spacing your plants throughout your house if you can! Gnats can travel between plants and the issue will recover faster if they’re forced to stay within their plant. Also water with 1:1 isopropyl alcohol and water, but you might want to double check on that ratio. Good luck!

I use mosquito beater in my houseplant soil and it really helps with it! I just mix it into the top few inches of soil. Good luck 🤞🏻

I use mosquito dunks in my watering can. I break a dunk in half, toss it in my 1 gallon watering can and let it soak for at least overnight then water my plants with the “tea”.
I continue with this for every water for all my plants until the knats disappear.
The dunk is good until it completely breaks up, then I toss in another half.
I also use sticky traps to catch the adults.
I’ve found this combo works really well, and the mosquito dunks are easy to find and pretty cheep (Lowe’s, Home Depot, Amazon).
I wouldn’t use the mosquito dunks in any plants grown in straight water. However, I don’t think the knats lay eggs in just water like mosquitos do.
Good luck, I hope it clears up for you, they are such annoying little things!

Peroxide method has worked for my indoor plants. Another consideration (a theory for one of my plants ) is maybe the plant is getting root rot and that’s why they keep coming back. But I’m definitely trying the dunk technique for my open garden bed! Can’t keep up with those suckers, thank you!

I got a flying insect fan light from Amazon and I run it overnight and it has helped significantly.

honestly I went nuclear and it was the only thing that worked for me. I removed all my plants from their soil, chopped all the roots, and rerooted everything in water. I ended up switching most of my plants to semi hydro and only recently started using soil again on some of my plants. It sucked but the gnats were finally gone after over a year and a half battling them and using everything I could to get rid of them.
