Help! I am making my own soil mix. I found a recipe that is 50% Fox Farm Ocean Forest, 25% perlite, and 25% orchid bark. I have everything except the orchid bark. All I found was orchid potting mix, not orchid bark. Where can I buy some? I am located in the US.

I got my orchid bark off of amazon, great stuff, arrives dry and bug-less, been using it for a couple years now

I follow a couple of plant people and they said instead of the small bags of orchid bark, you can use regular bark that is chunkier (pine bark or chunky mulch) make sure it is not chemically treated. That is what I use for my own mixture is pine bark from Lowe’s. I can get a massive bag for like $6 and it’s pretty much the same as orchid bark.

Orchid bark is generally pine bark. But some of the cheaper brands are fir bark.

I used to buy on Amazon, but have been ordering orchiata and kiwi bark direct in the 40L bags. The difference is treatment of the pine bark on those to, one is kind of mulched prior. But all orchid bark will be either Pine or Fir bark. They do come in different sizes too. So if you see one is really cheap it's can sometimes be the smaller chunks, so keep that in mind and look at pics. Generally, like perlite #4 will be the largest size being like 1" to quarter size
