this is my dad’s plant, neither of us can identify it but it’s apparently constantly droopy like this, no matter if he waters it or not.  
does anyone have any advice to give him so that he doesn’t have to let it go 😭🙏

Looks like a rubber tree? My guess is the roots are bad, so the leaves are no longer getting water.

You can check the roots and see if any are salvageable. If not, chop the stem and put it in water to root. 👍

It may need more light. They like bright light. The leaves don’t look dry. No dry tips, spots or edges. This makes me think it needs light. I would also check the roots for rot, as Mads recommended just in case there are issues. I would add a grow light above or moving it closer to an east or west facing window. South windows are good as long as the plant is gradually moved closer to prevent sunburns. 🪴🍀
