“🎵Sometimes it feels like somebody’s watching me.” I was doing my daily check for pests and blooms. I bent over to get a closer look at some succulents and saw what looked like a coiled snake in a pot. 🐍 It turned out to be the legs of a Southern Leopard Frog. Very showy compared to the other brown frogs in my yard.

Sunny I think I could send many happy hours exploring your garden!! This frog is too cool

My thoughts exactly! I wish we all could host a plant swap at Sunny’s house and just spend the whole day admiring the garden and the plant collection!

I don’t have much of a garden. I have a pool that’s currently a cement pond! It has many varieties of frogs and I have very few mosquitoes because of the frogs! Both my son and I get major swellings from the bites. So, I appreciate the frogs. The drawback is the circle of life that comes with the predators like snakes that hunt frogs and the hawks that hunt everything including the snakes and squirrels! 😬

The coolest ones are the Texas Laughing Ducks and the grey herons who nested in the neighbor’s pine tree. The herons hatched 3 very large and loud chicks the squawked every morning. My neighbor calls them pterodactyl! They were as loud as the laughing ducks who sound like flying hyenas!🦆 The grey heron chicks flew from the nest about a month after hatching as seen in the photos.

My subconscious said the brighter the colors the more deadly the frog! So, I’m keeping a distance from it. 😅
