The most common and easily recognized plant of all! Spider plant

Did you have to add most common and easily recognized to someone who was asking what it was?

#### NikoScy replied on 2024-08-30

Yep! The tag in the pot should’ve told them what it was… if not, a simple google image search or even planta plant search… assuming they know what planta is, haha

We love a mansplainer!!!

#### NikoScy replied on 2024-08-30

Haha, why is gender relevant?

i got it at a box store so the tag just said “tropical plant”. google was giving me mixed results and i figured i’d use this forum for what it’s for and ask for help :)

Well, the other answers were no fun.
It looks like! it can’t be! But it is. It’s…

Spider plant. Spider plant
Grows in the ground
in bunched like a fan
Shoots can be thin or thick
Cats love to start with a lick
Check it out
You’ve got a Spider Plant.

I received mine in 2021 from my neighbor. She was moving and she couldn’t do anything with it she said.

First year in my house the cats went to town on it. I put him outside in the spring and he came back to life. The next winter when I brought him back in the house the cats ate him again.

He’s been uneaten now for a whole year and a half and I’m glad that he’s got some purple flowers. I was worried it wasn’t gonna get them again this year but I guess that’s a fall thing.
