For me it depends on how long you’re gone.

If it’s just a few days all my plants are on timers so I just adjust watering days by a few days.

A week or longer I usually try to have a friend or family member stop by and water for me. Or if you have someone who can plant sit at their place that’s always an option!

Living with others/ friends who are willing to stop by

-Do you live in an apartment or house with others? If so you could leave a specific note for a trusted someone you asked to do it for you on a fridge (everyday object so they don’t forget)
Mention what days you’d like them to water the plant for you. Give exact measurements .For example . Please water with 2 measuring cups of water on Tuesday and the following week on Friday

-That way there’s less pressure on the person to worry about messing up. You can also ask for pictures of them from time to time to put your mind at ease. I’ve done this before it was really helpful

If you live alone and no one is able to stop by

\- I’m not sure how long you’ll be away but you can change the environment to control what you can. For instance, for the plants that need a lot of water or a bit sensitive to direct sunlight you could give them extra water and lightly adjust the lighting in the room depending on the plant. That way they’re less likely to burn to a crisp while you’re away

In this case you’d just have to figure out the needs of each plant. What they like and don’t like and try to make the environment more safe proof so that it’s less likely for them to die from harsh sun exposure or rotting root from overwatered soil. Kind of like safe proofing a house when a baby is around

Many plants as long as they are well hydrated before you go will last a week! As long as they are still getting some light and not behind closed curtains for the week 😊— also grouping the plants together whilst your away (sounds silly) but they create a micro climate and sort of look after each other 🪴🥹🥰!! I had 8 days away followed this and they were fine

I haven’t tried this yet, but I’ve been learning about ways to water for longer trips and I’ve seen some recommendations for a string that sits between the plant soil and a cup/pitcher of water! So it’s a slow watering across time through the porous string

I checked your profile and saw you had some succulents. For those, just leave a note not to water if someone is helping while you are away.😄 If not, just water before you go and walk away. They should last a week no problem. I’m no help on the rest.🤪
