If it’s in a jar of water, you don’t need to do anything to water it, just make sure to change out the water about once a week to prevent algae from growing. Once it sprouts roots you can plant it in soil, although Zz plants take a pretty long time to root.

Ok so cold tap water works?

Yes it does :)

I would avoid tap water and try to use filtered. Sometimes there are minerals and such in the tap water that can cause harm.

Also, Plant Father (I think), said to treat tap water with a water conditioner that is made for aquariums. This was such an A HA moment for me!! He suggested API.

Usually it means to change out the water (which is optional you don’t need to change it too often) or add water to the jar

please don’t use cold water for your plants, especially tropicals. cold water can shock the roots. the water should be at least 65°
