Does anyone know a reliable method to grow/propagate new shoots for a small umbrella tree?

I recently was dealing with having to move around quite a bit, and in the process all but one of my umbrella trees shoots/stems ended up dying. Tragically, it now looks quite lonely and spindly in its pot. I’m quite fearful of killing the final stem, so any advice would be appreciated!

The common way to do it is a water prop with a stem cutting. If you have any experience with cuttings, it should be pretty easy
