Why is my Manjula growing up so sturdy should I cut it and lay it flat on the pot soil ?

Another option is to give it a trellis to climb. But yes, if there are nodes on a stem you can pin it to the soil and roots will grow from that node.

you can also just give her time — she’ll get long enough to trail

She looks like a climber. Buy a moss poll and some Velcro on Amazon and make her happy !

A pole will encourage the vines to climb and the leaves to get bigger.
