# I’m a first time plant mom and I need help! I didn’t know that plants…

I’m a first time plant mom and I need help! I didn’t know that plants needed drainage holes.. I know, I’m awful. I have 2 plants with no drainage holes and the soil is moist. Should I repot them into a different pot? I’ve bought some new pots for them. I need tips, I’m afraid they are going to get root rot or fungus gnats. Please help!! They are both in this picture.

If you’re new to plants I definitely encourage you to repot into pots with drainage. Just get some cheap plastic insert/nursery pots that will fit in your decorative pots, that way they still look cute :)

Also make sure they’re the right size. You want 1-2” larger than the root ball. If you go too big, even with drainage, the soil will stay moist too long and you can still risk root rot.

If you’re going to repot as soon as you get home, you’re already a great plant mom. It takes me a couple of days to talk myself into repotting, hoping the soil is somehow going to miraculously dry out, it doesn’t You got😉

Listen I want to try to keep as many plants alive as possible 😂. As soon as I see a yellow leaf I freak out like what have I done wrong??!

Ya I’m bad at overwatering myself. I have repot one because I overwatered her sadly.
