Wondering if anyone can help me figure out what’s going on here! Not sure what’s causing the brown spots but I’m fairly new to the plant scene and would appreciate help or advice.  
Not sure if it’s a water thing or if I need to replant it now

It does seem like quite a small pot. I think smaller pots also can tend to be more saturated with water.

The pot is uniquely shaped does it have drainage?

Yes, I have rocks for drainage

From what I read online this plant is very drought tolerant and well draining light friable soil is crucial. Rocks give chunks but you want more like pumice and sand and perlite with some coco coir and regular soil mixed in. Many root and leaf problems can occur with over watering. Not having a drainage hole also can cause buildup of minerals and whatever is in the water that you are using since the roots never get flushed. I think it makes it more difficult to get air into the roots which they need since the water just displaces air rather than pulling it thru with the flow. And if not careful more likely for roots to be sitting in water that inevitably collects at the bottom of the pot with gravity which this plant would hate. Definitely use filtered water
