Hi guys, I received this monstera for my birthday and it’s so cute but hasn’t been very well looked after. Any tips would be appreciated !!

I would give it new soil to start. I think you can keep it in the same pot, but you’ll know more once you pull it out of the pot. A chunky mix 1/4 Fox Farm is an excellent choice), 1/4 orchid bark, 1/4 chunky perlite, 1/4 coco husk. Some people go soilless. If you do that add horticultural charcoal and worm castings.

Hi, I’ve already repotted in the photo. It came rootbound so I repotted already with all houseplant soil.

It definitely needs more aeration. A standard potting mix is going to “choke” the roots.

There are like rocks and stuff in the soil though

Yeah okay, I found some wood chips at the park and picked some up. I have put them into the soil and changed the soil again as there was little flies in it. There’s no where near as much as yours, but there’s a lot down at the roots and some at the top?
