I did some walking around in my city and found 2 plant shops that are right by each other and about 20-30 minutes away when walking! What’s a good way to gently/safely transport plants when walking a long time or biking a short time?

I would say a covered wagon.
The kind you often see people pulling small children in.
That would protect plants from the elements and save your arms. Bonus points if the cover is removable for really big plants 😊 🪴

On my last vacation I bought a bunch of plants while out and about on a bike with a basket. I ended up “borrowing” a cardboard six-pack wine holder from a nearby grocery, and that worked great!
