Four of my plants have thrips. Including both of my Deliciosas.
I’ve isolated them but they were surrounded by several other plants, and my baby, Bella, my Jade Pothos, was nearby so I’m checking her diligently but I’m dreading finding one on her! 😫
I’ve heard neem doesn’t work on thrips. Does anyone have success getting rid of thrips completely?
Do I need to chop every infested leaf or can they come back from it?
Basically I’m going to blast them with water every day to get any newly hatched nasties off, and hopefully they won’t have a chance to lay any new eggs.
Any other advice?
Picture of my beautiful Bella for attraction.

Bonide systemic granules or SNS 209 will work on thrips.

This was a lifesaver for me! It actually got rid of all of my thrips instantly. Literally can’t say it enough this is MAGIC. it saved 10 of my plants and even my favorite plant, my massive 3 year old monstera who is literally my pride and joy lol. I also used systemic granules to treat the soil. I sprayed neem oil on after letting the dead bug brew sit for a while to help clean the leaves well. You have to wipe the leaves down to get rid of the dead bugs after letting it set for awhile. and then keep the plants you sprayed away from your other plants for about a week or 2 until you see no sign of any more bugs. I also do this to any new plants I bring into my collection now because thrips are the WORST. I literally tried everything before finding this spray and I was like why tf didn’t I find this sooner lol

I will definitely be trying it! One of the monsteras infected is my first one that’s already been through a heck of a lot and has nearly died a couple times.
Thanks for the advice!

And what about the eggs inside the leaves? Does it kill those or do you have to keep treating until they’re all gone?

Water board them on the next watering

What’s that?

I’m in the middle of a thrips outbreak and use neem. I’ve treated my plants probably four times already. It is kind of annoying and I’ve had some photosensitivity. Haven’t seen a bug in a few days but still gonna be treating for a while because thrips are notorious.

Definitely going to be trying the captain jack spray after reading some of the comments

Will definitely be checking that out! 😳
