Finally invested in some fox farm happy frog soil. I spent a huge chunk of today repotting a bunch of stuff! I previously used a compost soil from Walmart and added perlite and worm castings. I couldn’t find it this year and I don’t like miracle grow soil for my house plants.

If you have used fox farm soil what did you think? It looks like very nice dirt and I’ve heard many good things about it.

Dirt is something you sweep under the rug! Soil is for plants! :)

Fox Farms is my go-to soil. It’s what my mom bought, so I carried on using it, following her wisdom.

I’ve been using Happy Frog, but got the Ocean Forest this last time because people speak so highly of it.

What’s the difference between the two Fox Farms soils you’ve used? Have you used it long enough to notice any differences? Any other comments? TIA!

I love fox farm, ocean and happy frog are my go toos. I use them in my base mix fir anything thats not pon/leca, or I'm experimenting with. The only thing I will mention, especially the happy frog, it's inoculated. So if you don't use it all, try to keep it dry, or youll get an over growth of fungi. Not detrimental, I just stir it up and it's been fine. Just a bit disconcerting to open a bag of dirt and see white 👀

That’s helpful advice because I actually started keeping mine in a tote with a lid because my old soil I kept in buckets and it gave me more issues with fungus gnats plus the tote is significantly bigger

I keep my mix in a tote as well. I've been trying to randomly open it and mix it up to avoid any damp spots. It seems to be working.
