# Hello everyone. I’m new to plants so any recommendations anyone can…

Hello everyone. I’m new to plants so any recommendations anyone can give me i’d be happy to take! I bought this plant about a week ago and it was doing very well. I watered it once (the day it was bought) and i haven’t again since i’ve read they need a water about every 15 days… so i’ve been worried to water again and overwater it. As i’m so new to being a plant mom i’m unsure of what the problem would be and i’d be interested to hear feedback from you. :)

The plant does look over water from the black mushy leaves only water it when the soil is fully wet. Make sure when you water it you take it outside or to the bath tub and fully soak it and let it fully drain. If it doesn’t fully drain you need a new pot and some indoor potting mix with extra perlite.

If you have root rot mix one part 3% hydrogen peroxide with two parts water, then dip the plants roots into the water.

How do you know you have root rot, when you plant isn’t doing well and you’ve adjusted and it’s still not doing well you wanna take it out of the soil and check the roots. If the roots break off easily or are black or brown or mushy go ahead and cut those off.

Also plants that are more in the shade need less water then plants that are in full sun or in a sunnier spot. Hope my tips helped.
