# I am a beginner plant mom, but I love my growing plant babies. I have…

I am a beginner plant mom, but I love my growing plant babies. I have both indoor \& outdoor plants. Yesterday I was faced with my deepest fear. I have some type of bugs eating one of my outdoor plants. I saw the bugs yesterday, but I HATE bugs, so I just left it yesterday, not willing to face the bugs. But when I looked today, I could not find the bugs. I am sure they are hidding somewhere (waiting for me), but I could not find them. Is there someway I can save \& protect my plants without facing those little things?

i treat my outdoor plants with neem oil when i’m facing pests like this — just be sure to spray in the evenings so the leaves don’t burn in the sun

those are very caterpillar-looking bites! unfortunately i do not have any tips but this is a risk with growing plants outside :(

The caterpillars work at night, late afternoon, in shade or early morning when temperatures drop and low/no risk of sunburn. They stay near their food source. Check under all leaves. They might wear camouflage and wrap themselves in a leaf they cut. Brown ones hide on wood, soil and other dark structure. Green ones hide on vegetation. Look in shady spots close by. I have a long handle tweezer to pluck them off if I can’t flick them off with a stick without doing damage to the plant.
