# I need some help… I got my elephant ear Black Magic a little while…

I need some help…  
I got my elephant ear Black Magic a little while ago and after some rough patches with my cats eating its leaves multiple times, I finally got it to have on healthy beautiful leaf without them eating it and another is coming in!

But now, it’s leaf seems to be very dry. I’ve watered it about once a week and misted as well. Do I need to increase its misting?

I’m getting a humidifier for it hoping that helps but any other advice would be great!

I’m anxious it’s starting to go downhill again :(

I can’t tell if the white substance is hard water deposits, powdery mildew or mealybugs. Check for pests and treat with neem oil if needed. Treat with a fungicide if it’s mildew and stop misting. Misting creates large water droplets that block the plant’s ability to release excess water vapor from the leaves. The misted water enables the growth of fungal spores. 🪴🍀
