Hi everyone! I’m new to caring for potted plants and was wondering if anyone had general advice! I have an aloe Vera plant, and this apple mint.

I know aloe is a bit easier to take care of (if my mom can keep an aloe plant alive for years, I’m confident I can too lol), but I’ve never cared for mint, and I’ve heard they can be trickier.

It wasn’t the healthiest when I picked it up from the nursery. The roots were growing out and around the bottom of the pot and some of the leaves were damaged. I pruned and repotted it, and so far the mint is looking a lot healthier! I have a few concerns about the one long stem with the large curve and slight browning, but the leaves on it are still bright and it still seems strong.

Any suggestions are welcome!!

(And yes, I did drill drainage holes into the bottom of my pot :) )

keep pruning when needed, it’ll promote new growth! if you wanted to you could cut one branch, wait for it to regrow, and cut another to get rid of that long stem look. mint is very resilient, so good luck!! :)
