Any advice on how to keep our 9 month old husky heeler mix from digging in and eating the soil in my large potted plants?? I tried cayenne pepper on the soil, but apparently he likes spicy food. 😅 He gets plenty of exercise, enrichment and love, he just really enjoys the dirt.
I may just end up getting river rock to put atop the soil.
He especially loves the soil in my fig and dracaena…thanks!

Check the pet supply stores for pet repellent sprays for indoor use. They are designed to keep pets off furniture. You may be able to spray it on the pot or soil if it safe. I recommend you verify it’s safe for plants before using. 🪴🍀

I have a friend that uses moving plastic wrap to cover the soil

You can cut cardboard out and fit it to go on top of the soil

I put Vicks vapor rub around the rim of the pots and sprinkled cinnamon in the soil. My house smelled very interesting. Lol. The first command she ever learned was "get the heck away from that plant". lol. She's 4 1/2 now. I have 180 plants and never a problem.

Plastic scat matts have been a game changer for our house (husky and 3 cats)

he’s so cute!!!! you may just need to cover the soil with something for the next few months. he should grow out of it

Careful with putting rocks. Our girl decided she loved rocks as much as dirt and now we cant keep her out of either and she’s almost 4 now. Luckily she leaves plants alone-unless they get in her way lol
