Does anyone know how Planta’s liquid fertilizing tasks work? It tells me to fertilize with water (which is essentially watering the plant) but then might tell me to water later on. How does this work?

I am so glad you asked this question. I have watered one day and the very next day received a fertilize with water notification. I always check my history now before I do either and I always check the plant anyways (thankfully). It seems after I snoozed a task is when it got suspicious 🤨.

Oh I just did some digging and it looks like it replaces the watering task with fertilizing so I’ll have to test that with my tasks today.

But if anyone knows more than this I would love to hear!

I’ve been seeing several posts of people having this problem. I don’t think I have… but then again I have so many plants, it could happen and I didn’t consciously note it lol. The best policy is to check if the soil is still wet and snooze if necessary. It is kind of annoying if you snooze a fertilize task and then a water task comes up before your plant has dried out enough for the snoozed fertilizing. But it hasn’t been a constant for me. Sometimes seasonal and house conditions changes make the recommendation seem wacky for a while… and then things change again

So when you have fertilizing with water as your fertilizer type, it counts as a watering when you fertilize. If you snooze, it pushes back both dates. Check out my fertilizer task for this plant is due today but I’m going to snooze it for 5 days. Make sure the soil type, pot type and size, draft info etc is input so it can more accurately predict watering needs and be sure to keep physically checking the soil moisture before watering/fertilizing and snoozing the app reminders as needed.

And then after I snoozed it for 5 days, it pushed the fertilizing and watering back so there’s still the correct amount of space in between.

Ah I see! This make much more sense. It’s pretty simple now. Thanks everyone!
