Hey everyone, this is my seven year old peperomia (is that how I spell it?) :) and these days it’s been getting a lot of yellow leaves and leaf fall. Unsure if it’s just because of the age, but can somebody please give me any advice if I can save it or…
NOT?!?!?!
(Please let it survive!!!!)

check the health of the roots !

Yes it's spelled correctly. If the yellowing is at the bottom of the plant which are older leaves it's because it needs more energy to develop new growth. Or you could be watering it a little bit to much.

I agree with Payton and Nunyabzwx here. I’d definitely give the roots a check, but it is common for the eldest leaves to start to go as this type of plant ages to redirect its energy towards new leaves. If the roots aren’t looking so hot, I’d soak the roots in hydrogen peroxide for 20-30 minutes, then use sterilized shears to trim any rotted or damaged roots off, then repot it in fresh soil. I’d recommend Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent mix for this one. It’s what I use for all my peperomia obtusifolias, and it’s very well-draining, which helps lower the risk of overwatering it. My tip would be to let the soil completely dry out between waterings. Mine typically take about 11-14 days for that to happen. Hope this helps!

Thanks all we just reported this plant and gave it new soil, and the roots look fine and it had flowers for a little while. Thx tho
