# Help is this Shipping/New home shock? This is my Dracaena Janet Craig…

_Publié par AquariumGuy le 2025-06-04_

Help is this Shipping/New home shock? This is my Dracaena Janet Craig Compacta; I received it in the mail a bout a week ago. have been looking up more information, and I believe it could be transportation/new environment shock. But nowIthink I am overthinking this, and it is making me worried it could be herbicide poisoning. I am in an apartment, and I used rainwater from a downspout; I am worried it might have been sprayed when my apartment complex had a company spray the grass.
Is this shippin environment shock or something else?

It’s very possible as Dracaenas in general are chemical sensitive. I would take her in the shower and wash her down good then let her dry back out. She will likely melt off those leaves and that’s ok. She’s absorbing the nutrients left in them to grow and sustain herself. Double check for pests and make sure her lighting is right. I would also repot before her “shower” so you can check her root system for potential issues.

Side note (bc your username 😅) how can I lower my nitrate levels in my 10g planted tank? It’s been cycling for a month and that’s the only thing keeping me from fish stock🤦‍♀️

Do partial water changes every 5 days
