The ultimate question: Pumice or Perlite!

Specifically, I am trying to increase aeration for my velvet leaf philodendron that needs well draining soil. It has taken forever to dry out in between watering so I need to repot, check for root rot, and give it a new mix.

I’m also not looking to spend too much so I would go for perlite if someone has a recommendation of one they really like!

perlite tends to float toward the top of soil so unigro pumice works for me (at a cheap price point!!)
