# Many people follow the Planta schedule but many of us realized a long…

_Opslået af Phil den 2025-05-16_

Many people follow the Planta schedule but many of us realized a long time ago that it is impossible for any app to analyze every possible scenario or situation with every plant. Even with its adaptability. Probably about once a week I go thru all my plants just to make sure none are being left behind. I did that today and this is a pic of the plants that need to be watered early. They are not on Planta’s schedule to be watered today. Keep in mind I have 162 plants in the app. So this is not a huge percentage. And about 85% of my hoard is succulents. Probably had I let these plants go and waited for the scheduled maintenance, they would probably be ok, but some plants won’t survive repeated neglect. My point is that you still need to check your plants occasionally to see if they need help.

you can adjust the planta watering schedule by postponing or anticipating watering until the watering schedule fits your plants needs. I have 170 plants and with a bit of patience I adjusted the watering plant by plant.

Yes you can but as seasons change so does their need for water. Planta has adapted the schedule for the spring grow season but not all are aligned with their needs. I do the snooze, and you are right, the app will adjust but I still find it not to be totally accurate. It does a good job of estimating watering and fertilizing, but it’s still not perfect.

But then, neither am I cause sometimes I’m wrong.

I do too, everytime I water, everyone gets the full attention. That's why it takes me forever to finish them all 😄

Phil, I understand your point, and my conclusion is that you have to check constantly your plants anyway. Most of my plants are under grow lights, so seasons changes don’t apply, other are indoors, other outdoors… plants does a great job, but I have to check personally anyway… but at the end of the day, this is the pleasure of loving succulents and care about them.
