# Hello! My red nerve plant apparently wants to give up on life all of…

_Lagt ut av MamaDes den 2025-12-12_

Hello! My red nerve plant apparently wants to give up on life all of the sudden. It has been doing really well up until about 2 weeks ago. The leaves got really soft and wrinkled up i figured it needed some water and extra light since it hasnt been getting as much with the winter and all. So i watered her and put her under a light for the past week and some leaves have come back but as you can see the rest are dead lol. I checked the roots and dont see any rot. Any ideas what i could do to bring some life back into her?

I wish I had advice. I’ve bought 3-4 of those and kill every one. I have 150+ plants healthy and thriving but that one plant hates me.

What’s your humidity at

#### MamaDes svarte den 2025-12-12

Honestly, no clue lol. I would assume its pretty low just because we have had the heat running consistently these past few weeks. Could that be it?

My humidity sits around 34 (hard to bring it high in the Canadian winter). To me it looks like a humidity issue, you could get a humidity thermometer and maybe a humidifier to help. It will also benefit the other plants within the home.
I also mist mine every three days, I water when the pot feels light as well. Always try to water before you see a dramatic droop.

lol here is my dramatic queen 😂

Maybe humidity or grow light too close?

### MamaDes kommenterte den 2025-12-12

It was in the window when it first died so i dont think its the grow light. I never paid attention to humidity, how can i add some?

A humidifier or you could try misting it periodically.

My first 3 tries with the red nerve plant were ROUGH. Misting with a spray bottle or a humidifier are great!! Personally my problem was hydrophobic soil. If your soil is hard and clumped together it may have turned hydrophobic. Bottom watering, and better soil saved my current plant. If worse comes to worse try propagating it!
