Hi!

First post to this group!!

I have a bird of paradise, I’ve had for a year give or a take a few months.

I’ve never repotted but the roots are starting to stick out the bottom.

I generally follow a 1-2” pot upgrade rule of thumb but I seem to be out of bigger pots in this size. At this time it’s in a 6” but I’m thinking about putting it in a 10”. Would this be okay?

I wouldn’t. BOPs like to be slightly pot-bound, so it probably wouldn’t be happy going up by that much.

I agree. I lost the very first BOP I had by trying to out it in a large pot bc I I knew these type grow big. Big mistake! It is better to go in stages as it may stay too wet for the roots and they rot.
