I’ve been told that zz plants like to be snug in their pots but is this too much? It’s also still in its nursery pot so I will have to eventually repot anyway but should I do it sooner? I didn’t want to throw too much change on it when I first got it but it’s been a month now.

I think it’s totally your choice. I’ve also heard zz plants like a snug pot but when the roots start to grow out of the pot that much it might be time for a repot although you could probably wait another 2-3 months.

It would also help if I could see a picture of the top of the plant.

I hope this helped!

Pull off the pot to expose the roots. You may have to trim a few roots to get the pot off. It will be fine. Post a photo of the roots. 🪴🍀

Also don’t be alarmed if you find a rubber band or a plastic cage holding the roots of a couple plants together. I always repot mine from a nursery pot so I can locate, remove and put it in good soil.

Hey guys :)
I did decide to repot this afternoon into a size bigger than the nursery pot. A terracotta pot and I used cactus and succulent mix. I cut the nursery pot in order to get him out. I didn’t want to disturb the roots too much. There was nothing holding the plants together under the soil so I did my best to just keep them sturdy together while repotting because I didn’t want any tearing, since the roots were intertwined together, but the stems were very much separate. Do the roots and taters look healthy?
