# Hey y’all! I’m new to plant care and my calla lily has appeared to be…

_Opslået af Sydney den 2025-07-26_

Hey y’all! I’m new to plant care and my calla lily has appeared to be thriving the past month or two. However, she’s getting absolutely massive with new leaves popping out almost every day. For reference, she’s about 36” tall in a 10” pot. Does she need to be trimmed or moved to a bigger pot?
Also, she’s only had 1 flower that lost its bright yellow color and faded to a light green after about a week. Is this normal or should I be doing something different?
Also while I was talking these photos I noticed the little brown spot in the 3rd photo. Should I be concerned?
Thanks in advance for any and all help you can give!!

If roots are coming out of the bottom or if you take the plant out to check if it’s rootbound then I would repot it. As for the loss of color in the flower, it was probably over watered once so I would let the soil mostly dry out before rewatering. The spot could be fungus gnats or sunburn (too much sun). I would check the soil for any bugs that could be causing issues and if that’s not the case, move her to a slightly less sunny area or filter the light coming in.

Thank you so much! There are little gnats by the soil and a mushroom growing by one of the stems. Would neem oil be a good option?

Yes neem oil and diluted peroxide to drown the eggs will work
