Does everyone do a deep watering (where you water until water comes through the drainage hole) every time you water? I’m really struggling with how much to water.

I do.

I do, however I give my plants root rot way too often. So don’t take my advice.

I do but also make sure it is rather dry before I water at all.

I do this!! I just wait until it’s close to completely dry before soaking it again :)

I do but I make sure it’s super thirsty!!

Yes, you should water that way every time you water

I do too but not every plant. And agree with watering when soil is dry. Even when I water from top, if water goes through a little too quickly, I let it sit in the later for a few minutes to soak up for full hydration then toss any leftover water

This is pretty much exactly what I do every time I water! 🥰

Yes but you have to have the correct soil for the plant.

I do this every time I water.
I test how dry the soil is by sticking a finger in. If it’s dry at least more than half a finger or more I’ll take them to the shower and drown them (watering \& dusting leaves in 1). After a couple of mins I then put them on an old towel to catch any excess water and leave them for a while.

Usually it’s not how much you water, it’s how frequently

I do this every time, as long as it drains I read that’s not overwatering. Letting it sit in water is overwatering and causes root rot
